ENTER: UNTITLED DIGITAL SPACE
ENTER: UNTITLED DIGITAL SPACE
// VIDEO - 2020
ENTER was made to explore unconventional ways of creating spaces in time based media. The video follows an unidentified sources journey through unknown corridors and open abstracted planes, some more structured than others. The piece utilizes creative masking and overlapping objects to create an obscure visual collage with many moving parts. Transitions between frames feel more like dreamscape wormholes jumping between rooms. A key characteristic of the visuals comes from the way the video turns flat images into 3D spaces. This was achieved by exporting digital collages made in photoshop as VR files, and recording the images as I moved through them on a touch screen device. The piece also contains a rotating wooden sculpture i had created earlier than year, animated through photography.
Visuals are a blend of my own photographs, found media, sculpture, digital collage, and videos taken around toronto.
Audio is made through blended samples.
